The 2025 Ballon d'Or, the 69th edition of football's most prestigious individual accolade, is set to ignite fervent debate as the nominees are announced today ahead of the grand ceremony on September 22 at Paris’s Théâtre du Châtelet.

With the award now judged on performances across the 2024-25 season, from August 1st 2024, to July 31st 2025, a new generation of stars is vying to succeed 2024 winner Rodri, who is sidelined by injury and unable to defend his crown.
