Rodrygo Makes Decision on Real Madrid Future

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes has made a definitive decision to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu this season, despite attracting serious interest from Premier League giants Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur, according to Spanish outlet AS.

The Brazilian international had been linked with a move away from Madrid following due to increased competition for a spot in the Real Madrid forward line. However, Rodrygo is said to be fully committed to fighting for his place under new head coach Xabi Alonso.

Sources close to the club told AS that Rodrygo is eager to prove himself and earn a consistent starting role, even as competition intensifies in Madrid's star-studded attack. He reportedly spoke with Alonso directly to gain clarity on his role within the team, particularly regarding his preferred position on the left wing.

Premier League Interest

Despite the interest from Premier League sides — who are reportedly monitoring his situation closely — Rodrygo has not entertained any formal offers and remains under contract with Real Madrid until 2028. His release clause is set at a staggering €1 billion.

Over the past season, Rodrygo has voiced occasional frustration with being played out of position on the right wing. Nevertheless, he has always emphasized his emotional connection to Real Madrid and reiterated his desire to succeed with the club he joined in 2019.

The decision to stay and compete reflects Rodrygo’s determination to solidify his status among Madrid’s elite attackers — a group that now includes the likes of Mbappé, Vinícius Jr., Arda Güler, and rising talent Franco Mastantuono.

As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on how Rodrygo fits into Alonso’s plans — and whether his commitment to stay will translate into minutes and meaningful impact on the pitch.
