Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leeds United Preview: Predicted Lineups, Team News & Match Analysis

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be desperate to earn their first Premier League points of the 2025/26 season when they host Leeds United at Molineux on Saturday afternoon.
Wolves’ Struggles Continue
Vitor Pereira’s side head into this clash bottom of the Premier League after four straight defeats, the worst start to a league campaign in the club’s history. Last weekend, a powerful header from Newcastle’s Nick Woltemade condemned Wolves to a narrow 1-0 loss at St James’ Park.
Despite some attacking moments at Molineux, home supporters have only witnessed disappointment so far. A 4-0 defeat to Manchester City and a 3-2 loss against Everton have left Wolves searching for answers. Their only competitive victory this season came in the EFL Cup on August 26, when Jorgen Strand Larsen scored twice in a 3-2 win over West Ham United.
However, Wolves may be without their star striker again this weekend. Strand Larsen has missed the last two league games with an Achilles injury, leaving Hwang Hee-Chan and Tolu Arokodare to potentially lead the line once more. Enso Gonzalez (knee) remains sidelined until the New Year.
Leeds United’s Mixed Return to the Top Flight
Back in the Premier League after two years, Leeds United have shown both promise and frustration in the early weeks. Daniel Farke’s men looked set for a point at Fulham last weekend, only to concede late on when Gabriel Gudmundsson’s own goal handed the hosts all three points.
Since their opening-day win over Everton on August 18, Leeds have gone four games without a victory in league and cup action. That run includes a penalty-shootout defeat to rivals Sheffield Wednesday in the EFL Cup. With just one goal scored in their last four fixtures, attacking reinforcements are already being discussed ahead of the January transfer window.

For now, summer signings Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be relied upon to provide attacking spark. The Whites could also welcome back Joel Piroe and Ao Inaka from injury this weekend, while Karl Darlow continues to deputise in goal for the injured Lucas Perri.
