Xavi Simons completes Spurs move

Tottenham Hotspur has confirm the signing of Dutch international Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, pending international clearance and a work permit. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has joined Tottenham on a long-term deal and will wear the number 7 shirt.

Xavi said: “I’m really happy to be here. From the moment I spoke with the coach, I knew this was the right place. I’ll bring flair, hard work, and a winning mentality for the team and the fans.”

Head Coach Thomas Frank added: “Xavi is a fantastic addition. He’s still young but already proven at the highest level, with goals, assists, and the ability to unlock defences. He’ll make our squad even stronger.”

A product of Barcelona and PSG’s academies, Xavi has already lifted trophies in France, the Netherlands, and Germany, while shining for PSV, PSG, and Leipzig. He was Eredivisie’s top scorer in 2023, earned Bundesliga Team of the Season honours in 2024, and has 28 caps for the Netherlands, including appearances at the World Cup and Euros.
