"What you dream of" - George Brown Reacts to Championship Debut

George Brown could hardly hide his emotions as he sprinted towards the Sheffield Wednesday supporters in the away end at Fratton Park. The 19-year-old was handed his Championship debut by Henrik Pedersen on Saturday—and he didn’t disappoint.

With the Owls searching for their first league win of the season, Pedersen entrusted Brown with a starting spot. The teenager responded with energy, pressing relentlessly and working tirelessly as Sheffield Wednesday took control of the match.

Brown Scores on Dream Debut

After Barry Bannan opened the scoring with a stunning free-kick, Brown made sure of the points in the second half. The young striker latched onto his chance and kept his composure to slot home, sealing a 2-0 win for Wednesday and sending the away fans into raptures.

Reflecting on his big moment to the Sheffield Star, Brown said:

"It's what you dream of. I couldn't ask for a better day, a better performance from everyone. When I found out I was starting, I was obviously buzzing and the only thing that could top it was to get a goal and that happened so it was an incredible feeling...

I think since the start of the season when I've been up with the first team, I've thought about how a goal would be incredible. You kind of picture it before, what you are going to do, but when it actually happens you don't actually know what to do. I just saw absolute mayhem in the away end so I just thought I'll celebrate with them because it's what they deserve."

A Rising Star for Sheffield Wednesday

If selected against QPR, Brown will already be making just his fourth senior appearance—but his impact is already being felt by Wednesday fans. With a goal on his Championship debut and a tireless display, the 19-year-old has quickly become a name to watch.

A few more goals like Saturday’s, and George Brown could establish himself as one of Sheffield Wednesday’s brightest young talents this season.
