MOLINEUX MELTDOWN: Leeds Run Riot To Sink Wolves

Coming off the back of a harsh defeat away to Fulham, Leeds went into battle on the road again in the pouring rain. With Marching On Together being belted out from the away end, Leeds got us kicked off in the West Midlands. With Wolves holding possession well, they began to hold comfortability in the game with them being a few steps ahead of Leeds. And with all of this possession, it would be Wolves who would break the deadlock in the 8th minute. After an inch perfect pass from Fer Lopez, Ladislav Krejci fired his effort past a helpless Karl Darlow.

With Leeds a goal behind, it was evident something needed to change fast. With around 25 minutes of no action, Jayden Bogle swung a dangerous ball into the box from the right flank which saw Dominic Calvert-Lewin nod his effort into the bottom corner helping Leeds back into the game. Eight minutes later, Krejci would bring Calvert-Lewin down near the Wolves box. Anton Stach would stand over the free kick and strike an absolute rocket into the top right corner leaving Jose Sa in the Wolves goal astonished. What a strike it was. Little did Wolves know, there was more to come from Leeds. Right on the stroke of half time, Stach would surge forward for Leeds laying the ball off to marquee signing Noah Okafor, who would neatly slide his effort into the bottom right corner, sending the travelling Leeds fans into ecstasy. This gave Leeds a half time lead which would see them reign over Molineux once again and go on to win 3-1.

"Today we had the clinical edge in nearly all situations. I think the key was being confident and dominant from the very start. You could feel that we wanted to go for it. Sadly at this level, if you make a mistake, normally it's relatively quickly punished and that's what happened today. The one time we lacked our defensive awareness of tracking runners, we were punished. We didn't dwell on this and didn't lose confidence. But we kept believing in our game plan, our processes. And for that, I think we were pretty dominant, created good chances, scored three excellent goals and deserved to win. Wolves were throwing everything they had at us, but we defended our own box well. So in the end, it was also, like always at this level, a hard fought win and also a tight game. But for me, not a doubt, it was a deserved win."
